A micro-precision brow pencil or a brow pen with a fine tip is the most effective tool for drawing individual hair strokes into sparse areas. Micro-blade-style pens create the most realistic result. Follow with a setting gel to hold hair upward and blend drawn strokes with existing brow hair.

A clear or tinted brow setting gel locks brow hairs in the direction you brush them and holds product applied underneath. For the strongest hold, use a brow wax under the gel. Waterproof formulas perform best in humid conditions or for long days with physical activity.

A brow pomade is a thick, creamy product applied with an angled brush that creates bold, defined, and very long-wearing brow looks. It is best for those who prefer a more sculpted, ombre, or graphic brow style. Pomades require more skill than pencils but deliver a more dramatic and lasting result.

Generally, brow color should sit within one to two shades of your natural hair color for a harmonious look. Blondes often benefit from going one shade deeper for definition, while those with dark hair can use a shade slightly lighter at the inner corner for a softer result. Never match brow product to jet black hair unless that is the specific look you are building.
